We are here to tell you that all of those horror stories that you have heard are not something to worry about. There are so many reasons to go with Hardwood and we are excited to share a few with you!

One of the number one myths I hear all the time is, Pets and Children will ruin your hardwood flooring. Why it is true that pets and kids can some times be messy and careless it foes not mean that your flooring can not withstand the ruthlessness. When considering hardwood flooring makes sure to choose a hardwood with higher durability rankings, no wood is scratch proof but there are some more durable options. Hardwood flooring can be sanded and stained multiple times through out the life of the flooring, most people never need to do this but it is an option. While hardwood can be a little more work to care for, there is no other flooring that compares the the natural warmth and beauty you get. Some ideas when considering hardwood to prolong the life, use area rugs for kids to play on, keep pets nails trimmed down, clean up any pet accidents or kid spills when you see them

Next, most people thing that hardwood flooring is difficult to care for. Well this is so far from the truth, its just as easy as any other flooring you are considering to purchase. We suggest using a dust mop for every day cleaning and a light spray hardwood cleaner when needed. Typically we would suggest Hardwood Bona cleaner, make sure to refer to your manufacturer warranty to see recommendations. Not a fan of moping, use a vacuum or roomba to clean up every day messes.

Have you hear that hardwood flooring is too expensive? While your hardwood flooring will cost a little more up front than luxury vinyl plank flooring, if you look at the big picture of the long term investment in your home, in the end you will end up ahead. Hardwood floors will last most people the life of their home as well as will increase the value of your home should you ever decide to sell it. Other flooring options will get you buy for 3-7 years before you have to replace them but the right hardwood flooring is timeless and will hold up for a lifetime with the proper care.
