Halloween Flooring-Halloween Sale

Halloween Flooring is a fun celebration that many look forward to each year, but it’s during this time that damage might happen to your beautiful flooring, especially if you’re planning on having a party. Regardless of the type of flooring you have, taking preventative measures and dealing with situations immediately should they occur could make a big difference. The following tips can help you enjoy all that comes with Halloween while keeping your flooring in great shape.

Replace felt pads on chairs and tables

Someone could easily bump into a chair or table and scuff up the floor, especially when you have many people in one space during a party. Felt pads are inexpensive and can be a big help in preventing this issue. There are self-adhesive options, so all you have to do is peel, position, and stick the felt pads onto the bottom of the legs of the furniture for an added level of protection.

Instantly deal with floor mishaps

During a Halloween party, it might seem easier to leave a spot or spill and deal with it after your guests have gone, but the longer the food or liquid remnants sit on the floor, the worse the stain could get. Keep handy a printed out informational list of cleaning instructions so you know what to do for your flooring should a particular issue happen, such as spilled red wine or squished Halloween candy. Make sure that the instructions are not generalized and that they’re specific to your type of flooring. You may also want to block off the area that you cleaned to give it time to dry properly without guests stepping on it.

Eat candy carefully

It can be tempting to grab some of your favorite Halloween candy and go on your way, but it only takes seconds for pieces to accidentally fall on the floor. It’s even worse if it goes unnoticed right away and it’s stepped on. Help prevent this issue by eating candy in a way that this situation is unlikely to occur, such as by eating it off a plate at the table. It’s not always ideal, but it’s easier than having to spend time trying to remove candy remnants off the floor.

Be careful when moving furniture

Many move furniture around when they’re decorating or having a Halloween party, but it’s while doing this that damage can happen. Never push or pull any furniture or other objects across a floor. If need be and if possible, ask for help with moving items around so the furniture can be lifted instead.

Take shoes off at the door

During October, it’s not uncommon to find candy, broken eggs, silly string, and shaving cream on the sidewalks or in the street. Anything you or others inadvertently step on could end up tracked inside and transferred right from the bottom of the shoes on to your flooring. It’s worth considering putting a shoe tray by any doors of your home so people can take off their footwear before coming inside. As an added measure, put doormats on the outside of the doors.

Chances are you spent time carefully choosing what flooring to have in your home. During the weeks around Halloween, take extra measures to protect your investment. It could be worth it when, after all the celebrations are over, your flooring looks as incredible as it did before.
