Hardwood Floors – Navigating The Route To Placing Them

Hardwood Floors - Navigating The Route To Placing Them

Hardwood is long lasting and can be used for many things in manufacturing and in construction. This makes it an expensive commodity for both uses. It is beautiful and brings out the best in everything it is used for. When it comes to flooring, hardwood floors give the house an undeniably beautiful look, which makes the house look radiant.

They are versatile and can survive a lot of pressure and are also designed to resist moisture or treated such that they cannot be affected by humidity and water. There are many types of hardwood floors, and hardwood look alike floors, they are both long lasting with the latter being cheaper than the former. This article is designed to show you what type of hardwood flooring you can use for which room and why.

  1. Real hardwood flooring

These type of hardwood as the name suggests is real wood cut from the trunk of a tree during the manufacture of timber in the mills. It is thicker than the other types of hardwood and closely resembles what was known as mining beams, which were used to support mines to avoid, cave-ins. In houses, these beams acted as pillars and they are made of solid pieces that are very thick.

However, for the floors this thickness is reduced to almost two centimeters so that they are easily fitted on top of subfloors. They are preferred because they are not easily damaged by pressure or water damage. However, for use in kitchens, bathrooms and other areas of the house, they need to be specially treated to save them from bacteria and mold infestation.

To make them especially beautiful and smooth, the floors are sanded using sand paper and then vanish is applied to them to give them color and shine. These floors increase the resale value of your property therefore if you are intending to sell it you should invest in these floors. You can lay these floors in any room, considering how versatile and beautiful they look.
