The Best Rug For This Room!

The Best Rug For This Room!

Have you ever wondered what rug or carpet would be right for each of your rooms? Rugs can be used to add beauty to your den, living room, office, bedroom rugs, entryways and other spaces in your house. If you really want to pick the right kind of rug for any of your spaces, you will have to do some research because there are many types of rugs and carpets.

It turns out that how a rug is woven or constructed has a great bearing on determining whether it exudes a feeling of formality or informality. Because of the wide variety of rugs that are available in the market and great variations in design and patterns, it is not possible to list each and every kind of rug in this article. We will generalize and look at a few groupings dependent on their use. Here are some types of rugs you can opt to purchase:

Using needlepoint rugs to decorate the home.

Needlepoint: They are best suited for the den, living room Rug , bedroom rug or dining room Rug. They are very durable and long lasting rugs which are hand-stitched, in diagonal stitches with wool yarn, to produce a light weight, beautifully detailed, delicately textured and intricately patterned rugs. They are usually weaved with geometric or floral patterns. Because they are lightweight rags, it is best to use pads, usually thick ones to keep them in place.

Braided rugs are durable and long lasting.

Braided: They are very hardy and durable rugs able to withstand lots of traffic. They are ideal for high traffic areas in your home such as the entryway. They can also be used in bathrooms( especially those made from polypropylene as they are usually resistant to the mildew that rugs are susceptible to in damp places), basements and can be used to protect linoleum and wood floors. They can be hand or machine made. The machine made ones are usually braided using two methods: Round braid or tubular braid. Depending on the material that was used to make the central core that is usually enclosed with the outer braided shell, the cost and durability of the rug will vary.

Hooked rugs are versatile and blend in well with home decor.

Hooked: They can be used in a lot of places in your home such as the living room, patio, bedroom rug or kitchen. They can be hung up on a wall as a decoration. They tie in well with your room’s décor while protecting your hardwood floors and wall to wall carpeting especially in the high traffic areas. These rugs are made by hand or machine. Yarn or strips of fabric are pulled through a mesh or a stiff woven base such as burlap.

Oriental rugs have been a staple for ages.

Oriental: These are rugs which are generally made in the orient or Asian countries such as the Persian rugs. They are usually handmade, some are knotted with pile or while others are woven without pile. They are very durable, easy to take care for and are resistant to stains and also will hold up well in high traffic areas in your home. They blend in very well with about any décor of a room. This is because of the rich variety of colors they come in. They can be used in a lot of places in the house from the living room, the bedroom rug and even as staircase runners.
